How the competition works
HERE is a more detailed description of the competition framework.
Public Nominations: The process starts with the opening of public nominations.
Shortlisting & Finalists: A shortlist is created based on input from Experts, Country Partners, and the HQ. From this, regional finalists are selected and announced.
Voting & Regional Winners: Public voting then opens, and regional winners are chosen by a regional jury. These winners are revealed at the Regional Grand Finale.
After the regional stage, all regional winners move forward to compete at the global level.

Also, one of the 4 assigned categories has to include at least one of the ecosystem support organization-oriented categories that are:

A situation where jury voting and/or public voting created a tie between the first and second runner/winner of a category. More than one jury might be invited to break the tie. To keep the integrity of the competition, jury members are not informed of who the front runners are, and thus, the additional jury ranks all applicants in that category.
If the jury wishes to be considered as a global jury for the coming global round, a 5th and a 6th category has to be ranked on time on the regional level.
