Introduction

The Global Startup Awards brings together some of the most promising startups and ecosystem builders from around the world. To ensure a high-quality, credible, and investment-focused evaluation process, our Global Jury Board is exclusively composed of experienced investors.

We welcome applications from venture capitalists and business angels who want to help identify, evaluate, and spotlight the next generation of high-potential startups.

As a GSA juror, you will play an important role in recognising founders and companies with the potential to shape industries, strengthen ecosystems, and create meaningful impact on a global scale.

WHO CAN APPLY?

To become a GSA juror, you must be one of the following:

Venture Capitalist
A professional investor working with a venture capital firm, fund, or investment company.

Business Angel
An individual investor actively supporting startups through capital, mentorship, network, or strategic guidance.

Please note that jury board participation is reserved for individuals with proven investment experience. Applications from consultants, service providers, startup founders, or ecosystem representatives without active investor experience may not be eligible.


your role in the competition

You’ll take part in the selection process at the global level, helping us choose the top candidates in specific award categories.

Our team will fully support you by providing all the information, materials, and tools you need to carry out your role. In return, we kindly ask for just 1–3 hours of your time to help us identify standout talents and celebrate the diversity and potential of this vibrant region.

What you get

As a global juror, you will gain access to a curated pipeline of outstanding startups from across the Global Startup Awards network. You will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise, discover emerging companies, and help elevate entrepreneurs with global potential.

Your role as a juror supports a fair, credible, and internationally recognised selection process, while connecting you with a global community of investors, founders, and ecosystem leaders.

You'll also be recognised and promoted, and become part of the GSA global network - giving you special access to our events and connections.

Below, you’ll find a detailed overview of your responsibilities as a jury member.

GLOBAL JUROR responsibilities 

  • The jury member is expected to use his / her domain knowledge and expertise to evaluate each finalist that belongs to the category/categories.

  • The jury member will read all the category definitions and criteria to understand the framework of the rating process.

  • The jury member will evaluate the finalists individually based on the category definition and criteria provided by the relevant staff.

  • The jury member will rate each finalist based on instructions.

  • The jury member will perform the rating process of the finalists and provide the results to the relevant team within the dates and deadlines of the competition.

  • The jury member will rate the finalists without involving personal or third-party interests in the rating process.

  • If the jury member has any relation or personal interest to any finalist that he/she is expected to vote on, the jury member will not rate in the specific category and must notify the HQ immediately.

  • The jury member will not share information about the rating process or the results before it is published officially by GSA.

  • The jury member will not perform any action that might harm the regional brand and/or the GSA brand.

Expect a minimum of 2 hours of work, which can be done sporadically.

  • Jury Badge - ''Global Jury'' (to add on graphics or in email signature)

  • Photo and short bio on GSA Website

  • Possibility of submitting a Jury Video - Description: you will get the opportunity to send in a video of yourself in which you share what it means for you to be a global jury member, which will then be shared and used as evergreen content across all GSA’s social platforms.

Process

  • SIGN UP

    To get started, simply click the link to the sign-up form and submit your Jury Application before the deadline.

  • JURY APPLICATION ACCEPTANCE

    As we receive your application and move forward, you will take part in the selection process. Your role will be to help choose the best candidates to win in specific categories.

  • JURY ROLE AND RANKING STARTS

    Our competition team will fully support you and make sure you have all the data, materials, and tools you need to carry out your responsibilities.
